About me and "Fortune and Glory (Days)"

Not sure how many people will actually read my initial blog post...ever.  I have never had a blog and until recently never wanted one.  I guess I'll get down to the core reason why I have chosen to begin one. It's not really a short story but I'll do my best to make it brief.  Here goes....all my life, as long as I can remember I have always loved pop culture. I loved it long before I knew it was called "pop culture". Back then it was just cool stuff that I was passionate and excited about. It started with toys and cartoons and it ballooned into comics and cards and all types of other stuff.  Anyway my collecting went on full force until about 18 when college started and it took a pretty long hiatus....12 years to be exact. I bounced from dorms to apparments, got married and just seemed to have it on the back burner. I would have the random toy or statue on a shelf but nothing compared to what I used to have.  Just this past summer I decided to read up on a toy line that I loved as a kid, the iconic "Super Powers Collection". I did some research and decided to buy a carded Batman (something I had been after for some time). This purchase seemed to reignite my passion and here I am. I am hoping to use this blog as a place to share my thoughts, post about my collection, do reviews and who knows what else.

My "Nerd Nook" as I like to call it:

I guess that'll do it for now, until next time.....

  3. Rich, great to see you with a blog! I think so many of us have a similar story with being involved in po culture our whole lives, not realizing how important it was and then jumping back in ull force when you acquire a disposable income. I have focused much more on loose figures with my collection but what you have put together is quite impressive. your display is also very clean, something I wish I could achieve. Can't wait to see what else you do on the bog!

  4. Ashley,
Thanks for the kind words. I am actually shifting my collecting to loose figures as well. Hoping to get a nice collection if vintage He Man and Star Wars in the works soon. I also really want to pick up a Bognar. Been eying him since your review and commercial.
