80s Spotlight - Billy Ocean and Romancing the Stone

I've been wanting to post random 80s related stuff for some time now so I figured what the hell.  For my first 80s spotlight I decided to start with Billy Ocean. I heard "Caribbean Queen" at 7am yesterday on the way to work and I knew it was going to be a good day!  Billy Ocean's music has the ability to transport right back to my living room floor watching "Jewel of Nile" or listening to the cassette tape that the Ford dealer included with my mom's new Ford Tempo which featured the song "Get out of my Dreams and Into to My Car".

"Who's that lady comin down the road?!"

When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going!
Love this at the end of Jewel Of the Nile
Classic!

Finally for this first 80s spotlight I can't talk about Billy Ocean without mentioning "Romancing the Stone" and "Jewel Of The Nile".  Like most things I love, my attachment to these movies is rooted firmly in nostalgia!
I have this very poster hung in the Nerd Nook

"Oh, oh *I'm* the creep, huh? Well at least I'm honest: I'm *stealing* this stone. I'm not trying to romance it out from under her"

  1. Rich man, I know what you mean. I can't recall right off...but there is a certain 80's song that every time I hear it - I remember being in the back seat of my Mom's Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme opening up a Quick Kick figure I had just gotten from K-Mart. Weird how we associate things. Good post!
